Strait logistics: the quiet rerouting
Container bookings suggest routing decisions are shifting months ahead of any public announcement. The changes are small per vessel and large in aggregate, which is exactly the pattern that summary tools miss when they read only headlines.
Port operators we spoke to describe capacity as adequate but uneven: berth schedules absorb the change, while inland transport shows the first signs of strain. The numbers below are illustrative for this demo.
| Quarter | Container volume | Average dwell (hours) |
|---|---|---|
| Q1 | 182,400 TEU | 31.2 |
| Q2 | 197,150 TEU | 33.8 |
| Q3 | 208,990 TEU | 35.1 |
