Container bookings by quarter, eastern terminal (illustrative data for this demo).

By Nadia Rahman World desk 6 min read logistics [Baca dalam Bahasa Indonesia](/id/logistik-selat/)

Container bookings suggest routing decisions are shifting months ahead of any public announcement — small per vessel, large in aggregate.

Port operators we spoke to describe capacity as adequate but uneven: berth schedules absorb the change, while inland transport shows the first signs of strain. The numbers below are illustrative for this demo, but the method notes and the signed summary are real.

## The numbers

| Quarter | | Container volume | | Average dwell (hours) | | Change |

| Q1 | | 182,400 TEU | | 31.2 | | — |

| Q2 | | 197,150 TEU | | 33.8 | | +8.1% |

| Q3 | | 208,990 TEU | | 35.1 | | +6.0% |

> The road does not.” — a terminal planner, speaking on background

## Voices

Three planners and two freight forwarders described the same pattern from different angles: bookings move first, public announcements follow, and the inland leg is where the pressure shows up.

## Method

Aggregate booking figures were cross-checked against two independent datasets. This demo does not publish the underlying records; the signed summary at the top of this page is the machine-readable version.
